Childbirth Preparation Class

Exploring the labor journey, this childbirth preparation class empowers the birthing parent to labor and give birth at home, in a birth center, or in the hospital.

Using a multi-sensory approach, we examine the following topics: stages of labor; relaxation techniques, comfort measures, and active birth positions; stages of labor; preparing your partner/support person for labor and birth; medications; active labor with an epidural; in the event of a cesarean birth; creating a birth plan; and postpartum adjustment. Birthing parents (and their support person) will learn through interactive and creative participation in a spirit of fun and curiosity. Our course is balanced, down-to-earth, and non-judgmental.

Recommendation: We suggest that expectant parents take this class between 28-34 weeks.
