Work Trade Scholarships Available

We offer work-trade scholarships to help cover the cost of training for women who otherwise would not be able to take the training.

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Be a Person of Color
  • Household income under $25,000 (income verification required)
  • Be available for training dates, including orientation
  • Live in the area of the training.
  • Be available to work 10 hours per week at our DC location

Scholarship recipients must commit to participating in the training at a significantly reduced fee in exchange for working a specified amount of hours with Mamatoto Village. If unforeseen circumstances arise and a recipient is unable to fulfill this commitment ultimately,  repayment of the scholarship at a prorated amount is required.

Mamatoto Village PHW training is reliant upon work-trade scholarship recipients fulfilling their hours or repaying the cost of their award so that we can continue the scholarship program.

Before filling out  this application, consider the commitment! You will be required to pay the materials fee. The work-trade scholarship is valued at $500-$1600.
